Spring Break 2008!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We are currently in Charlotte on Spring Break. We came up for Sophie and Macy's 1st birthday and are hanging out in Charlotte until Jack's party this Saturday. We have been staying with Grandma and Grandpa Bailey and tomorrow we are heading to Shea-Shea and Uncle John's house until Sunday when we will head for Home Sweet Home and...Daddy :)! Daddy had to head home Monday morning to go back to work so I have been playing single Mommy this week and it is not something I would ever choose to do for real. Thankfully Grandma and Grandpa have been keeping Max and Abby busy with various outings but I'll post more about those later.

Sorry I don't have any pictures right now. We have some on Papa's camera that we will download when we get home and post about our week.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

6 month checkup

Lucy had her 6 month checkup today and weighed in at a whopping 16 lbs. 8 ozs.! She was also 26 1/2 inches long. She is up 3 lbs 2 ozs and 2 1/2 inches from her 4 month checkup. (She's been on all formula since 4 months so that probably explains the big weight gain). She hit the 75th percentile for height and the 65th for weight. Her little peanut head is only in the 45th percentile :) She also got 3 shots today and cried really hard :( Within a few minutes she was bouncing again so I gues she got over it pretty quick.
My camera isn't working so I can't post a picture but I will get one this week and post. Max and Abby each have their Easter parties coming up at school so I'll be posting again this week.

Until later...

It's Friday!

Lucy and Abby...Storytime!

I love Fridays. The kids and I have a Friday ritual and no matter how crazy the week has been there is something comforting about our Fridays.

Max only goes to school until 12:00 on Fridays so after the girls and I drop him off we do our Friday morning stops...bank, gas, and Mommy's once a week Starbucks treat :) Of course I think I may have created a monster because now Abby likes to get a Horizon vanilla milk when we go to "the coffee pot". So Abby gets her milk and I get my caramel macchiatto. We come home and get some stuff done until 11:30 when we have to get Max. After we pick him up we get some lunch somewhere (the favorite lately is Taco Bell).

Max can seriously put away some food! At Taco Bell he usually get 3 hard tacos and an order of nachos and yes...he eats it all. Due to a mistake on Taco Bell's part last week Max accidentally got some sour cream on his taco and loved it so now he wants taco supremes instead of regular tacos. Believe it or not he loves that is has tomatoes on it as well :) I wonder where he got his BIG appetite from?!? I have recently gotten Abby to eat more than just the nachos and she will get a soft taco as well and eat at least half. She prefers not to have any kind of vegetable on her tacos and therefore is quick to pull the lettuce off.

We usually get the food and bring it home because I am not always brave enough to sit in a restaurant with 3 kids by myself (bathroom breaks are a pain in the neck when you have to take them all with you). Sometimes on Fridays we will drive to North Charleston and meet John for lunch and the kids really enjoy doing that :) If we do that then we usually head over to my parents house afterwards to visit for a little while. They get to eat lunch with Daddy and see Nana and Papa!

Abby has been doing the cutest thing lately. When Lucy is playing on the floor she will get some books and sit down in front of Lucy and "read" to her. When she finishes a page she turns the books around and shows Lucy the pictures. It is too cute! Lucy will actually stay there and listen to Abby the whole time. Lately, every book Abby has read says the same thing... "Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me...I know". John and I are really beginning to see what she has been learning at school! She also LOVES going to Super Wal-Mart. The girl can't get enough of it :) If we are out of something she wants she'll tell us we have to buy more at "Supa Wal-mart"

Lucy goes on Monday for her 6 month checkup so I will post again then and let you know how much she has grown. Right now though she is on medication for thrush. It is worse in her diaper area but the doctor told me today to try Lotrimin so we got some and I am praying it's going to do the trick soon. Her mouth seems to be feeling better because she isn't crying when she eats anymore.

Take Care and have a great weekend!

Welcome to the Bailey Blog!

I actually got the idea to do this from another blog I have reading and I thought it was a great idea. Hopefully now that I am staying at home for awhile I will have the time to post updates on the kids and John and I and maybe some pictures to let you see how the little munchkins are doing.

This Daylight Savings time thing is great :) John just walked into the room and was so excited that it was still light outside and the kids were in bed! Now he can play outside too.

Just a quick update about our goings on...

Max and John had the opportunity to go to Breckenridge, Colorado to visit John's sister Caroline a couple of weeks ago. It was Max's first plane ride...EVER! He was so excited. It went well and his ears did not bother him nearly as bad as John and I were worried they would. They got there on Thursday and went sledding (this was also Max's first tiime seeing snow...EVER!) On Friday Max spent the day at ski school and from what we could gather it went okay but Max didn't want to go skiing again...he wanted to stick to sledding (I'm going to try to add a picture or two below). They had a great tiime and upon their return Max said his favorite part of the trip was "Caroline and the snow" :)

While they were gone Abby and Lucy and I trekked to Cornelius, NC to visit with Aunt Shea, Uncle John, Jack, Molly, Sophie, and Macy. We had a great time and Mommy got to see what it was like to have SIX kids when I babysat on Monday because Shea had to work. WOW! The following weekend we went back up (this time with Max and we rode with Nana and Papa) for Molly's 3rd birthday. It was a Wizard of Oz theme and I got to dress up as the Scarecrow. Brought back memories from my high school drama club days!

We now have two weekends at home until we go back to Charlotte for Sophie and Macy's 1st birthday over Easter weekend. Then the kids and I will stay up for the week so we can be there for Jack's 5th birthday party on the 29th. Shea certainly didn't make it easy on us by having all her babies in March :)

Max and Abby are really enjoying preschool and Abby has now gotten to where she gets mad on her off days because she really wants to be there! John and I are having a hard time realizing that Max will be going to Kindergarten next year at the public school. Where did the last 5 years go?

Lucy is growing like a weed! She goes for her 6 month checkup on the 17th. She has been rolling over for a while now and just yesterday had her first taste of rice cereal. Along with that came the first time she shook her head to say no (I don't think she liked it).

John and I are doing good to keep up with the bunch. My mom came over last night and we got to go get some dinner by ourselves! If you have never eaten at Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries and if you have one near you then you should go. Awesome food, huge burgers, great price. Gotta go for now, John and I have another date...to work on cleaning up the garage...it's like Christmas for him. Take care and will post more later. I couldn't add the pictures due to server problems. Will post later.
